Franklin was named in honor of Benjamin Franklin and is the Parish seat of St. Mary Parish. Franklin is located along Bayou Teche in the heart of Sugar Cane country. Franklin boasts a number of attractions, including some very nice antebellum homes. Best Western Franklin Louisiana.

Oaklawn Manor
Located at 3926 Oaklawn Drive. This National Register of Historic Places Manor houses a large collection of rare prints and original oil paintings by John James Audubon.
