The Arlington Plantation House, built in 1861, is located in the historic district of Franklin. The house, one of the finest Greek Revival plantations in Louisiana, was built by Honore Carlin. It survived the Civil War antebellum burnings and in 1863 served as a hospital during the battle of Franklin. In 1982, the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
Several oak trees on the plantation's seven acres, are over 400 years old. There are over 420 notable plantations and buildings in historic Franklin.
